Dr. Matthew Farag is an experienced urological surgeon who is passionate about helping his patients achieve the best possible outcomes through modern, minimally invasive care. Skilled in all areas of urological surgery, Dr. Matthew Farag has a particular interest in robotic surgery and techniques that promote faster recovery, less pain, and better long-term results.

Having completed his medical school training through the world-renowned University of Melbourne, he then completed his specialist surgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne (RACS). Dr. Matthew Farag seeks to combine surgical precision with a commitment to innovation and excellence. After several years dedicated to a PhD in Urology, he hopes to advance the knowledge and improve treatments in the field of urology.

Dr. Matthew Farag is known for his warm, respectful, and compassionate approach. He takes the time to listen, explain, and support his patients through every step of their care, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.

With a strong commitment to advancing the field of urology, Dr. Matthew Farag has authored numerous publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at major international urology conferences.

He has further enhanced his academic and clinical expertise by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in urological surgery, through the University of Melbourne*.

*Dr. Farag has submitted his PhD following more than six years of dedicated research (2019-2026).

Outside of Medicine

For Matthew, family means everything. When he’s not in the operating theatre he loves spending time with his wife and young family — whether it’s soaking up the sunshine by the beach, cheering on the footy at the MCG, or simply enjoying the little moments that make family life so special.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Matthew has always had a love for this city and its vibrant sporting culture. He grew up on the Mornington Peninsula, went to school in Mt Eliza, and completed all of his medical and surgical training in Melbourne — a place that continues to inspire both his professional and personal life.

Matthew is also passionate about staying active. He enjoys playing tennis and squash with friends and never misses the chance for a kick of the footy. For him, life is all about balance, connection, and creating memories with the people who matter most.
